5 Day Budget Friendly Wildebeest Migration Safari

Day 1: Arusha to Central Serengeti
After breakfast, you’ll head to Serengeti National Park, passing through the scenic Ngorongoro Conservation Area.

Descending into the Serengeti, you’ll arrive at the central park area known as Seronera, a rich wildlife habitat centered around the Seronera River, which attracts a variety of species.

After arriving in time for lunch, you’ll enjoy an afternoon game drive in the park.

Day 2 – 3: Northern Serengeti
You’ll start the day with an early breakfast before embarking on a full-day game drive in the Serengeti, focused on following the wildebeest migration.

The migration varies yearly, but the best viewing times are June to October, with wildebeest calving from January to March.

From July to September, your guide can take you to the northern Serengeti to witness the wildebeest crossing the Mara River.

Over a million wildebeest move year-round in search of fresh grazing and water. After the game drive, you’ll return to your accommodation for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 4: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Conservation
Wake up early and have a cup of coffee before heading out on your morning game drive. You will watch the sunrise and then return to the campsite by 11:00am for brunch.

After you finish eating you head out on another game drive in route to the Ngorongoro Crater.

Day 5: Ngorongoro Crater to Arusha
After breakfast, you’ll descend into the Ngorongoro Crater for a game drive, where you can spot the Big Five, zebra, and more, with the Great Rift Wall as a backdrop.

You can also have an option of having visit to the local Masai people to learn about their culture. In the late afternoon, you’ll be driven back to Arusha and dropped off at your hotel or the airport.
