These Terms & Conditions govern your use of Maramatta Safaris services, including bookings, travel arrangements, and participation in any tours or safaris.

By making a booking with Maramatta Safaris, you agree to comply with the following terms:

1. Booking and Payment Policy
  • Deposit: To confirm your booking, a non-refundable deposit of 30% of the total safari cost is required. The deposit is payable at the time of booking to secure your reservation. In some cases, we may request a higher deposit, depending on specific accommodation or park policies.

  • Final Payment: The balance of your payment must be made 60 days before the start of your safari. If the booking is made less than 60 days before the departure date, full payment is required at the time of booking.

  • Payment Methods: Payments can be made via bank transfer. We will provide you with the necessary details for making secure payments. All payment transfer fees, including intermediary bank fees, are the responsibility of the client.

2. Cancellation Policy

  • Client-Initiated Cancellations:

    • Cancellations made more than 60 days before the safari start date: The deposit will not be refunded, but no further payments are required.
    • Cancellations made between 30 and 60 days before the safari start date: 50% of the total safari cost will be charged.
    • Cancellations made less than 30 days before the safari start date: 100% of the total safari cost will be charged.
  • Maramatta Safaris-Initiated Cancellations:

    • In rare circumstances where we may need to cancel or significantly modify a booking due to unforeseen reasons (e.g., extreme weather, safety concerns), we will offer you alternative arrangements of equivalent value. If these are not acceptable, we will provide a full refund of any payments made.
3. Changes to Bookings
  • Client-Initiated Changes: Should you wish to make changes to your confirmed booking, such as changing travel dates or modifying the itinerary, we will do our best to accommodate your request. However, additional charges may apply depending on the nature of the changes, and we cannot guarantee that changes can be made if accommodations or services are fully booked.

  • Maramatta Safaris-Initiated Changes: We reserve the right to make changes to your itinerary due to circumstances beyond our control (e.g., park closures, flight cancellations, or accommodation availability). In such cases, we will provide alternative arrangements of similar value whenever possible.

4. Travel Insurance
  • Mandatory Insurance: All travelers must have comprehensive travel insurance to cover medical emergencies, trip cancellations, personal belongings, accidents, and other unforeseen events. Maramatta Safaris is not responsible for any losses or costs incurred by travelers who fail to obtain appropriate insurance coverage.
5. Health and Safety
  • Vaccinations: Travelers are responsible for ensuring they have the necessary vaccinations and health clearances to enter Tanzania. Maramatta Safaris recommends visiting a travel clinic prior to your trip to obtain vaccines for diseases such as yellow fever, and to consult your doctor regarding malaria prevention.

  • Health Condition: It is the traveler’s responsibility to inform us of any medical conditions or physical limitations that may affect their participation in activities or safaris. Maramatta Safaris is not responsible for any health issues that arise during the safari due to pre-existing conditions that were not disclosed at the time of booking.

6. Liability and Responsibility
  • Personal Responsibility: Maramatta Safaris is not responsible for any injury, loss, damage, accident, delay, or other irregularities that may occur due to factors beyond our control, such as acts of nature, government actions, strikes, or other unforeseeable events.

  • Wildlife Risks: While every effort is made to ensure your safety during safaris, you acknowledge that traveling in wildlife areas may involve certain risks. All travelers must follow the guidance and instructions of their safari guides and exercise caution when in the presence of wild animals. Maramatta Safaris is not responsible for any incidents or injuries related to wildlife encounters.

  • Third-Party Services: Maramatta Safaris works with third-party providers for accommodations, transportation, and other services. We make every effort to work with reputable providers, but we are not liable for the performance or service quality of third-party suppliers.

7. Visas and Travel Documentation
  • Visa Requirements: It is the responsibility of the traveler to obtain the necessary visas and travel documentation required for entry into Tanzania. Maramatta Safaris is not responsible for any disruptions caused by incorrect or insufficient travel documents.

  • Passport Validity: Your passport must be valid for at least six months from the date of entry into Tanzania. Make sure you have sufficient blank pages in your passport for visa stamps.

8. Tipping and Gratuities
  • Tipping: While tipping is not mandatory, it is customary in Tanzania to tip your safari guides, lodge staff, and porters. Suggested tipping amounts will be provided in your pre-departure information, but tipping amounts are at your discretion.
9. Complaints and Dispute Resolution
  • Resolving Issues: If you encounter any problems during your safari, please notify us as soon as possible so that we can address and resolve the issue. Our goal is to ensure that you have the best possible experience.

  • Formal Complaints: If you wish to make a formal complaint after your safari, you must notify us in writing within 30 days of your safari’s end. Complaints submitted after this period may not be addressed.

10. Governing Law and Jurisdiction
  • Jurisdiction: These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of Tanzania. Any legal disputes arising from these terms or related to your safari with Maramatta Safaris will be subject to the jurisdiction of Tanzanian courts.
11. Photography and Marketing
  • Use of Photos: Maramatta Safaris reserves the right to use any photographs or videos taken during your safari for promotional purposes unless you specifically request otherwise in writing prior to the safari.

By booking with Maramatta Safaris, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms & Conditions.
